We've found that many advisors and brokers charge their clients 2-3% or more of total assets once their fees are added to those of the expensive mutual funds they use. To see how this affects your gains from investing, let's pretend you were to invest $100,000 and expected to earn a 7% real return before any fees.
Let's consider two funds, identical except for their fees. The first fund charges 0.75%. The second charges 2%, representing what you might pay at a typical investment advisor or broker.
In the example above you would have lost $184,129 of potential gains if you paid fees of 2% versus 0.75% after 30 years. This difference means that you would only have 70% as much money for, say, retirement as a result of the extra fees.
We try to keep your total investment fees as low as possible. In addition to keeping our investment management fees low (see our fee schedule below), we also pay close attention to the fees associated with stocks, bonds and mutual funds that we carefully select for your portfolio. The typical mutual fund that we invest in has fees ranging from 0.10 - 0.40%, far lower than the industry average of over 1.11%
Green Lake Financial Partners does not charge any hidden fees , minimum fees, account maintenance fees, startup costs or commissions.** Fees higher or lower than those listed may be charged where circumstances warrant.
We do not officially require a minimum level of assets under management (AUM), but we generally prefer to work with clients that have at least $200,000 or more to invest with us.
